Dr. Philip Tam, PT, DPT earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University at Buffalo and has been practicing in New York City since 2019. A lifelong basketball player, his passion for injury prevention and rehabilitation began on the court and continues to shape his approach to patient care today.
Philip has experience treating a wide variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions, including cervicogenic headaches, patellofemoral pain, achilles tendinopathy, and neurological disorders, as well as post-operative rehabilitation following ACL reconstruction, bunionectomy, and joint replacement surgeries. He has worked with patients of all activity levels—from high school athletes and weekend warriors to collegiate and professional competitors.
In addition to his clinical work, Philip has contributed his expertise to publications including Men’s Health and Runner’s World. He believes that no two patients are the same and takes an individualized, evidence-based approach to care, tailoring each treatment plan to the patient’s unique goals and lifestyle. His greatest reward is helping patients regain confidence, build resilience, and return to the activities they love.
Outside the clinic, he enjoys playing basketball, strength training, and spending time with family and friends. Philip is passionate about lifelong learning and is always looking to grow—whether through reading, listening to podcasts, or connecting with new people.
