Course: From objective running analysis to targeted intervention
-
Data-driven decision-making—even in the medical world—is something we can no longer escape. Running remains one of the sports with the most injuries due to the high repetitive load on our bodies. To date, the accessibility of high-quality, objective gait analysis has been limited to research facilities. With the advent of wearable technology, we can now obtain far more information about the forces acting on our bodies and show it to runners in real-time.
In this two-day course, you will learn how to analyze running gait data objectively to identify the weakest link in a runner's movement pattern. You will learn how to evaluate how a runner's muscles absorb impact, whether their pelvis is stable, and if there is good symmetry between their left and right legs. With the assistance of data, we will then develop strategies to help runners become more resilient and efficient through targeted biofeedback and exercise training.
