RETURN TO PLAY ATHLETE GROUP SESSIONS
HOW IT WORKS.
-
INITIAL EVALUATION
All Bespoke Return to Play Athletes begin with a detailed initial evaluation. This gives our medical team an opportunity to take a close look at injury history, training experience, sport of choice, and specific goals. Once we’ve had the chance to familiarize ourselves with the health history, current health/injury status and training objectives, we’ll execute a thorough screening process that will include prescribed exercise instruction. All information gathered during this initial visit will then be used to construct a highly personalized performance health rehab training protocol for the athlete.
Initial evaluations are required for each new injury.

SESSIONS
We employ a semi-private performance rehab training model here at Bespoke Carmel Mountain. This supervision format offers an incredible blend of the attention to detail that you’d expect during a 1:1 private session (including entirely individualized training material), and the improved training environment that comes with a performance athlete team training dynamic. Bespoke Return to Play athletes are introduced to their individualized programming in a one-on-one coaching format and will eventually transition into our traditional 5:1 client-to-coach training format once they’ve demonstrated an understanding of the material and proper execution. All Return to Play Athletes in the gym train under the supervision of the medical staff at all times, and will continue so, regardless of how much experience they have within the model.
-
PROGRAM LENGTH
Each program is prescribed to be 4-weeks in length. Each session is designed to be executed in roughly 45-minutes and will consist of individualized activation protocols, range of motion and corrective exercise programming all integrating with speed training, jump training, medicine ball work, and prescriptive rehab strength training where necessary.
The initial evaluation will give both the DPT and parents a better understanding of how long the program will need to be for the athlete.
After four weeks the athlete will be evaluated again and either cleared to return back to play, given a gradual return to play protocol, or advised to continue on with rehab training.

Parents are encouraged to participate in the treatment room based portion of the initial evaluation (injury history review and training goals discussion), and then ask that they remain in the waiting area during the time that athletes are in the rehab training areas. Athletes are most receptive to coaching cues & instruction, and therefore make positive progress, when not under the watchful eye of mom and dad!
